
Based in Beijing, Peter Sharp is Sky News' China Correspondent. Peter joined Sky News as a Foreign Correspondent in 1993 and has reported from 57 countries around the world. He has won a number of awards including Best News Reporter in 1995 for his Sarajevo coverage and Best Correspondent in 1998 at the New York Film and Television Awards. In 1999 Peter also won a Gold Medal for an hour long documentary on Auschwitz.
Since 9/11 Peter has filed numerous reports from the Middle East and secured a rare interview with Taliban fighters on the Pakistan border. He led Sky News’ coverage of the 2002 Gulf War from Kurdistan in Northern Iraq and has reported frequently from Afghanistan and Iraq. His coverage of the Tsunami in 2005 was nominated for a Royal Television Society Award.
